So there’s this competition for writing held by the Eden Project, that I’ve submitted my work to.
The theme is Gold, and basically what I had to do was simply interpret what Gold represents to me.
Here goes;
In this world that we live in, where everyday we are the ones who choose what to see, hear, say, act and live.
Whether it’s the destruction and devastation in the hearts of adults and children due to poverty that we see, or where, we hear the cries of those mothers who have lost their child in their arms, due to the wars that we ourselves, the ones we call civilized and evolved have created.
Or is it those words that we say, but do not know the power we give them and the weight they carry, which are then thrown onto that person and no matter how long its been, most of the time, the hurtful words that we have been said to people, have never left their hearts and an open wound or a scar has been left in their hearts.
But how we choose to act, is what I believe is the essential element needed to decide how to live our lives, because our lives are one of the greatest gifts we have been blessed with, even if what we see and hear or say and act proves us wrong at the moment, because it is never too late to start to make a change, with the choices +that we make in our lives as those are the ones that lead to the decisions that we have made and one is about possibilities and the other is about direction.
If only some how, we all began to realise how precious the gift of living is really worth, then I dare to say we could all start to see more changes in this world slowly. But at least that is more than nothing.
In a world where, we should know what is worth valuing, like those memories that will never be replaced or the fact that most of us will have at least three meals a day and will rest warm and safe under a roof, where those people we take for granted most of time, are in actual fact, the ones who really make a difference in our lives, yet we forget to say a simple thank you and just by saying thank you, we have no idea how much that could mean to someone, as we are appreciating their efforts and acknowledge them.
In a world where, people are not blind by what Gold represents and symbolises to them, as in actual fact Gold is just a metal, a metal and nothing else, however yes it does not oxidise nor corrode which therefore ignites that fascination within people to acquire investments in Gold. As it could be their ticket to a so called “better life” but what they don’t know, is that their blindness in wanting money and power, has lead themselves in being part of the death of thousands of lives, as everyday in this world that we live in, the price Gold is rising but as a result of that increase of the number, the number of children who die each day is also increasing, so the rise of children who die each day, is in actual fact their ticket to a better life.
What I believe is Gold, are those people who never stop making a difference in other people’s lives, when a moment is so special and holds that fond place in our hearts, when we see the change in the world we live in, but most of all when the act of love out rules everything else.
Because love and living are the greatest gifts we have all been given. There is nothing in the world that can break a bond of love, but to love you must be living and to live you must love, so this combination of the two is worth far more that what Gold could ever be worth because it is priceless. And that is the journey of life.

You both feel safe and protected when you’re with me, you both know the love I offer to you is unconditional; the two of you know that no matter what you do or how many people get involved and build walls betweens us, I will break them down and fight all of the battles that will come because; seasons may change, but my love and desire to keep fighting and caring for you two little girls will never change
Days, Weeks and Months go past when I don’t see your beautiful faces and little by little that starts to mark a trace in your hearts because time is something that cannot be replaced or gained. Within in some years, both of you will no longer be those two little girls I once carried to the car at night or kissed and tucked into bed, but would of grown to become beautiful young girls and will see me eye to eye.
So now is the time, to prove to be the hero I am in your eyes.
The little things no longer count. It’s the effort I now make that does, to be there when it matters and to prove to you both that I will fight for what I love and believe in because there are fews things in life that are unbreakable and one of them is the bond of hearts, nothing can over rule that or break it.

Today it rained. For hours. A sudden rush came through and into my veins, I was overtaken by it and was left with no other option, but to gear up and go out in the rain.
I wanted to listen to the rain, feel the rush of coldness and warmth in my body, making my hands cold, yet my cheeks pink.
So I did, I went out in the rain but came back inspired.
The Rain, is filled up with everything.
It’s like with every drop, you either feel lighter with all your problems or heavier? Depends how you see things.. But every drop is different than the one before.
See it from this view;
Its filled with a different emotion, thought and purpose. But the sound it makes when it hits the floor, is the impact that rain drop has had upon you. Sometimes we run away from our problems trying to find some peace of mind for a period of time or we simply just dont want to face the consequences that lie ahead.
But hearing and seeing how the rain was coming closer and closer to me and how I was also feeling so cold yet filled with warmth inside, within no time I was overtaken by the unexpected shower of rain that caught me off guard.
In actual fact, at some extent, the way in which the rain surprised me it made me realise that; no matter how much or how far we try to run away from our problems at some point they will come to you and catch you unexpectedly, and you will be captured in the manifestation of your own worries, that you, yourself created with time.
Just be geared up with the right thoughts and only with time you will arise the current and force of the waves that have been drowning you till now.

Love.
Love is the act involving one person or more, when with time the people involved in this act of love are able to see what really lies within that person and not just what everyone else can see. It’s when you are able to accept who that person is and knowingly love them, for who they are and for not what you want them to be or who they could be. It’s when a bond is created within the people involved, which sometimes could be unbreakable depending on the love that was shared. But above all there must be respect and honesty, so that through this way, a stronger love can be born and later with time if maintained well also flourished too. But to be loved and to be in love are two different things.

How often must we bear the challenges of life;
The endless roller coaster between happiness and sorrow;
The constant ups and downs of daily strife.
And always the question remains …. why?
Life is not an easy road for most;
It twists and turns with many forks in the road,
Although always, and inevitably, we are given a choice …
Do we turn to the right … or the left?
Do we take the high road … or the low road?
Do we take the easy path … or the difficult one?
Decisions are not easy for those struggling for direction …
And sometimes the many choices and signs become overwhelming.
While standing at a crossroad in life,
The urge is to take the most comfortable path;
The road with least resistance …
The shortest or most traveled route.
And yet, if we’ve been down that comfortable road before;
Have gleaned its lessons in life, and learned from our experiences;
Do we yet again follow the known?
Or does our destiny lie in another direction?
The fear of the road less traveled is tangible and all too real;
It manifests itself in many ways,
And tends to cloud the issues that might otherwise be clear.
It is in these times of confusion,
That we must seek peace and solitude;
Time to contemplate on our life,
Our experiences and our choices past;
Time to look back, and reflect on what we have learned
Without fear or confusion.
For only each of us knows our own personal thoughts;
Our unique past and personal history;
The experiences that brought us to the crossroads we now face.
We can always learn a small degree from others experiences,
And yet … no one person can walk in our shoes,
Others know not, the trials and tribulations faced in private …
For each is individual … unique … and personal.
And that is why … while standing at a crossroads,
Only “we” can formulate the decision for ourselves;
The true direction that lies within;
The choices we must deliberate on with clarity and wisdom.
For it is only through personal reflection,
That we can now choose our destiny;
… Our next adventure;
… And the future we will embrace.

A poem that I found, where I can identify myself with. Glad I found it, ‘cause I know I’m not the only one who can identify themselves with this poem. Share it, pass on the beauty of the message and stay blessed.

Miss Future Journalist:
Yesterday was the summer solstice (in the northern hemisphere), known to humans for thousands of years as the longest day of the year. In ancient times, people celebrated this day as the center point of summer. Some still observe the solstice with ceremonies and prayers, gathering on mountaintops or at spiritual landmarks. Others greet the day with parades, or by simply going outdoors and soaking in the sunshine. Collected here are images of people observing yesterday’s solstice in the northern hemisphere — and in the southern hemisphere, where it marked the darkest day of winter.

The 3,800-year-old observatory was discovered in 2001 in the northwestern town of Kumanovo, 70 km (43 miles) north from Skopje, and is ranked the fourth oldest observatory in the world, according to NASA. Wow. Was the single word which summed up my reaction to this feed when I saw it. I think this is beautiful, the fact that so many people went out to celebrate and marvel up this act. I guess this shows, there are moments when all of us do come together in an act of non-violence. If only this was an everyday scene.

I wonder about how in life you are always at risk of experiencing the unexpected, but those unexpected experiences are the one’s that make everything worth while and that moment forever gold and treasured at heart.
I wonder, how life would be without all the unexpected surprises, but I wonder upon this thought not once, or twice, but several times within a day and I have now for sure come to the conclusion that; it doesn’t matter whether what you experienced was a major encounter, all that matters is that from the moment you set foot from wherever you awoke, that first thought that enters your mind and captivates all your other thoughts is the most important thought you have of the day. As it’s what sets your day off into a drive of different emotions and sometimes may lead you to a miserable day or one of the best days of your life! So instead of saying ” why is the weather so depressing, it ruins my mood, I hate the place where I live, why can’t I live somewhere else” first start off with a “thank you” to God for giving you another day of life, to your parents for all that they do to make you happy, even if it means sacrificing themselves for your sake, to the person whom you share your apartment with or that soul mate of yours and I can guarantee you it will lead the start of your day with glory and victory written all over it.
I wonder how it is that so many of us forget to say ”Thank you” when it is an act which does not take longer than three seconds to say and yet so many of us forget the true value and importance those two words have as they are able to change the day of so many people or just make them feel appreciated for knowing that there is still someone out there in this world in which we all live in who still knows the importance and value of those two important words. So why not today, tomorrow or the days that follow on from now you become that person who is able to change someone else’s day just by taking three seconds of your time and saying thank you to them even if it was for the small gesture of holding the door open for you as you walked on by.
I wonder how one day, not so far away from now it will be those people who have learnt the principles in appreciation, acknowledgement and the importance valuing has upon something/someone who will be making history and and writing the future and I hope that one day those people will remember the importance of the need of love around the world and how if only all of us in this world came together as an act of love rather than violence or greed we could finally be making world peace together! So one day not so far away from now, that will be a mission I will be willing to chase and capture and you are all welcome to come and join me in this mission I have set to accomplish alongside with God.
